Wendy Brodnick M.ed., C.Y.T., moved to Stockton in 2000 with her husband Rob, and became a regular student at the Yoga Center. As a recent graduate with a Master's degree in Adult and Organizational Development from Temple University, Wendy became very interested in the transformative nature of yoga. As interest moved to inquiry, study and personal practice this soon evolved to an interest to help others transform their lives through Yoga. Wendy completed her teacher training and became a Certified Yoga Instructor through the International Sivananda Vedanta Center in 2002. In the past 10 years Wendy has practiced several different disciplines along side Sivananda including variations of Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga. As a yoga Mom, Wendy studied and practiced yoga for mothers and babies through Laura Staton and Sara Perron. It is a joy to share and support people in this personal transformation on their journey of a lifetime. |

Mary began yoga 41 years ago in San Francisco with famed yoga teacher Walt Baptiste. At the same, she graduated from nursing school and began a career as an RN and holistic health professional, receiving her degree in Health Services Administration from St. Mary's College in 1979. In 1993, she completed her yoga teaching certification through the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre and has been teaching yoga ever since. She and her business partner Tara Crane opened the The Yoga Center that same year. In 1997, she received professional training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with Jon Kabat-Zinn and in 2003 became a Certified Professional Yoga Therapist with the International School of Integrative Yoga Therapy. For over 30 years she has been a practitioner and teacher of numerous holistic health practices, conducting seminars and workshops on a wide variety of subjects, including stress reduction, assertiveness, Transactional Analysis, meditation, diet and self-defense. My life has been devoted to creating peace and health, both mental and physical, in my life, my relationships and in the world. I believe that accumulated stress in the mind and body obscures our natural vitality, creativity, inner peace and freedom of choice. Yoga provides practical techniques to release that stress and reveal our innate intelligence and joy. |

Olga Claussen was born in Rostov-on-Don, city near the Black Sea in the south of Russia. I graduated from Pedagogic State University of Rostov with a teaching credential in Russian language, Russian literature, and French language. During my studies, I was first exposed to yoga. We were doing asanas and cleansing the body's systems through fasting. I was very impressed by these experiences which included fasting for thirteen days, drinking only water during that period. This group closed and I tried to continue my yoga by myself but it was difficult. I moved to the United States in 1999 and became reacquainted with yoga at the fitness center near our home. I was not satisfied with the yoga program because it was not true yoga but more of a yoga surrogate. I then went to the Teachers Training Course at the Grass Valley Ashram in May of 2006. I received my teaching diploma and began teaching yoga at the local fitness center. Recently, I completed the Vedanta course at the Grass Valley Ashram in October 2006. |
